Privacy Policy

PlanetIdle is built to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

No accounts

There's no sign-up, no login, and no user account anywhere in PlanetIdle. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information just to play the game.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your game progress, your device's contents, your browsing history outside our site, or any personal identifiers tied to how you play. There's no advertising SDK, no ad tracking pixel, and no third-party data broker embedded in the game.

Your save stays on your device

Your game progress is stored locally in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and it's never sent to our servers — we simply have no copy of it. Clearing your browser data or switching browsers/devices will clear or leave behind that save.

Checkout data (Chapter 2: Mars purchases)

If you choose to buy Chapter 2: Mars, the checkout is run entirely by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes what's needed to complete the purchase — typically your email address and payment details — under Paddle's own privacy policy. We don't see or store your card number or full payment details ourselves; Paddle handles that.

The license key that unlocks Mars is derived mathematically from your transaction and contains no personal data — it's just a string of characters that our game can verify locally, with nothing about you embedded in it. If you use the "restore your key" form, the email or transaction reference you enter is used only to look up your purchase with Paddle at that moment — we don't store it.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to see aggregate, anonymous statistics like how many people visit which pages. It doesn't use cookies to track you, doesn't build a profile of you across sessions, and doesn't share data with ad networks or follow you across other sites. We only ever see totals and trends, never anything that identifies you individually.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if we ever add a new data collection point — we'll update this page so it always reflects what actually happens when you use PlanetIdle.
